Curious Mister at The Clarence Hotel

A boutique four star hotel, in the midst of trendy Templebar, The Clarence Hotel has recently undergone extensive renovation works, updating their spectacular lobby bar and a selection of newly designed bedrooms.

The bar, formerly known as the octagon bar, the inspired design team at O’Donnell, O’Neill Design Associates (OODA) have reimagined it as an uber-trendy cocktail bar, and rebranded it “Curious Mister”.

OODA’s design is complex with a quixotic quality, perfectly fitting the richly featured scheme. They worked with our design studio to create a bespoke axminster which would offer superb lifetime value as well as the creative freedom required for this carpet. A densely mottled ground provides depth and character while skittering clouds of butterflies in piquant orange punctuate the varied blue. But with a grand-scale pattern, in such a complex layout, the technical design of this carpet required real skill and weaving expertise. Project consultant, Danny Heaver who looked after this scheme shares the seeming plan he worked out for the fitting team to ensure the sections were laid and seemed with perfect pattern continuity.
