Situated in the beautiful English Lake District between the two market towns of Keswick and Cockermouth, there is a wealth of fun and exciting things to do for all the family at Armathwaite Hall, providing luxurious Lake District accommodation with great access to family-friendly activities.
The client wanted to refresh the interior scheme throughout this substantial country house hotel and spa. Each different space demanded individual bespoke design coupled with consistency of quality.
Working closely with our design studio, the client specified a very different style for each of the areas in the hotel, all woven in axminster in our factory in Wiltshire, but in various qualities to meet the traffic demands of the space.
The bar, for example, uses area rugs, featuring a striking large-scale geometric design in startling monochrome. These striking islands of woolly comfort punctuate an exquisite parquet flooring in the chic hotel bar. The traditional styling of the great hall lounge features a vibrant mottle ground, ideal for longevity of appearance in such a high-traffic area, and a striking greek-key border motif, which creates a zoned seating area in this heart-of-the building thoroughfare.
The Spa, a sanctuary of calm has an organic wave pattern through the deep pile carpet in neutral tones, which enhances the natural beauty of the other design elements. This sits in comfortable contrast to the classic motif design which graces the billiards room. Wood-panelled and rich in traditional design details, the almost-paisley print of this traditional carpet works beautifully with the time-honoured styling of the room.
